Isti, an Orphan from Banten, Hopes Education Will Guide Her Toward Becoming a Teacher

25 November 2025

In Ciseureuheun Village in Pandeglang, Banten, there is a girl named Isti. She is 13 years old and in the 6th grade of elementary school. She lives with her older sibling because her parents have passed away. Life without parents is difficult, but Isti continues to grow as a strong and positive child.

Her older sibling works simple day-to-day jobs, sometimes as a farm worker. The income is small and not stable, so they must live very simply. Their house is not in good condition. The walls are weak, and the roof often leaks when it rains. Even so, Isti does not complain. She goes to school every day with energy and a strong desire to learn.

Isti dreams of becoming a teacher. She wants to share knowledge and help other children in her village stay in school. She also hopes to become a doctor someday so she can help people who are sick. She believes that education can change her future. “I want to be a teacher so I can teach other children,” she said. Her journey is not easy, but she continues to study with patience and determination.

Isti’s story represents many children in remote areas who still struggle to access proper education. They need support so they can move forward and reach their dreams. Support from the community can help them build a better future.

Let us help Isti and many other children in Indonesia continue their dreams. Please visit human-initiative.jp and join the effort to create better opportunities for the next generation.
