Human Initiative’s Ramadan Da’wah Safari: Reaching Indonesian Muslims in Japan

Human Initiative (HI) Japan is one of the organizations that helps bring the Ramadan spirit to life. Every year, HI Japan invites two to four ustadz (Islamic teachers) to visit different areas in Japan, including remote regions, to hold a da’wah safari — a series of religious programs and visits.

The goal is to help Muslims in Japan stay connected to their faith by learning about topics like belief (aqidah), worship (fiqh), good character (akhlaq), and more. It’s not just about lectures — it’s also a chance to build friendship and community among Muslims.

In Ramadan 2025, HI Japan worked with 40 local partners in different areas. Activities included both online and in-person classes, community iftar meals, tarawih prayers, early morning talks, and ended with the joyful Eid al-Fitr prayer.

HI Japan is thankful to have met thousands of fellow Muslims through these programs and is committed to spreading the message of Islam across Japan.
