Human Initiative Japan Returns to Akmal’s Hometown to Continue Support
Akmal was working in Japan when he suffered a stroke that significantly affected his health and daily activities. The situation deeply worried his family in Indonesia, who wished to care for him directly and support his recovery at home. However, the cost of bringing him back made the process difficult.
With the help of Human Initiative Japan, KMII Japan (Keluarga Masyarakat Islam Indonesia Jepang), and many kind donors, Akmal was finally able to return to Indonesia and reunite with his loved ones.
On November 13, 2025, the Human Initiative Japan team visited Akmal’s home in Central Java. The visit served not only to continue delivering support but also to strengthen the silaturahim that had been built throughout the repatriation process. Meeting Akmal’s family again in their hometown created a warm, personal moment one filled with gratitude and renewed hope for his recovery.
During the visit, the family shared updates about Akmal’s post-stroke condition, including the daily care routines they follow and the challenges they face in providing long-term support. The Human Initiative Japan team listened with care, ensuring that assistance from kind donors was delivered properly and that the family had space to express both their progress and their difficulties.
Akmal’s wife expressed her gratitude for the continued support, saying:
